Recycling Events and Earth Day 2014 in Franklin


Kennedy School and Cub Scout Pack 126 Annual Recycling Drive
SATURDAY, MAY 3rd, 9am-12pm, Kennedy School in Franklin, 550 Pond Street

Accepting recyclable glass bottles, aluminum cans and plastic soda bottles. 


NEW THIS YEAR! Also accepting all gently worn, paired men's, women's and kid's sneakers and shoes and sports cleats that are still reusable and re-wearable! Shoes must in pairs.
Please no big winter boots, UGG boots, rubber boots, big fuzzy slippers, ice & roller skates, slippers, flip flops or moldy shoes or with holes/rips.

If your high school student needs community service hours, this is a great opportunity and helpers are welcome.

Town of Franklin Earth Day 2014
SATURDAY, MAY 3rd, 9am-12pm. Pizza lunch at Beaver Pond for all helpers.
For over 10 years, the Town of Franklin has conducted this event in an effort to educate the public on recycling, beautification, and general clean up of the town.
More information is available HERE. Community Services certificates will be issued to helpers.

Community Spotlight: Franklin Art Center


The Franklin Art Center teaches art classes to ages  4- adults in a gallery setting. Our certified teachers  base their curriculum on the Massachusetts State Curriculum for the Visual Arts.  During the school year, classes touch upon different mediums , including painting, drawing, and sculpture.



Classes for Teens –Adults include Drawing, Oil painting and Watercolor. Photography and Portfolio Review, are offered throughout the year.

Weekly themed summer classes are available June- August.


Art Birthday Parties for ages 4 and up can be booked at the Art Center. Come paint an instructor lead painting with your friends or choose from other art party ideas.




Adults can book a night out with friends at Art Night – Uncorked.

$35 per session. Space is limited register early!


The Franklin Art Center is currently involved in building the first sculpture park in Franklin.
Visit the Franklin Sculpture Park on Panther Way, next to the Police Station.
